Google announced the first Android O developer preview on March 21, 2017, with stabilization and performance work still ahead. That establishes an early testing release, not a finished phone update. A useful access record needs to distinguish the existence of a system image from the question of whether an everyday user should install it. [android-o]

The announced test targets were the official Android Emulator and Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus Player, Pixel, Pixel XL and Pixel C devices. Put those names in a target column. A matching device identifies a listed testing option; it does not turn the preview into a consumer release or establish compatibility for every other Android device. [android-o]

A second column should describe access on that date. Google made the initial preview available by manual download and flashing, meaning installation of the system image on a device. It explicitly excluded daily and consumer use. Android Beta was not available for Android O then; planned consumer invitations belonged in a future-status column, not the current access column. Phandroid reported a four-preview plan from Google, with the next preview expected in May. Put that expectation in the future-status column as a date to reassess access, not as a Beta enrollment date or evidence of a stable release. The first preview’s manual access restrictions still apply to the March 21 record. [android-o][phandroid-o-preview]

This eligibility matrix is our editorial synthesis, not an additional installation procedure from Google. Keep a row unresolved if the announcement does not identify the target, and keep present availability separate from intended later access. The source answers who the preview was for and which targets were listed. It does not establish that testing a particular app succeeded. [android-o]
